A DUI conviction can affect a nurse in Pennsylvania as follows:

You are required to report the conviction, plea, ARD program participation or reciprocal discipline to the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing within 30 days or at the biennial renewal (whichever is sooner). The Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing has the authority to discipline the nurse when (1) the nurse is convicted, pleads guilty, or receives ARD for a felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, (2) presents a clear present danger to the public health or safety, (3) is addicted to alcohol or illegal substances, (4) possessed, acquired, used, or distributed a controlled substance for other than an accepted medical purpose.
